Uh-oh! A killer lurks among you…

…and they’re about to interrupt an otherwise normal group outing at Hartford’s Connecticut Science Center. Someone in your group—possibly on your own team—is a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde, and they’re plotting to make you their next experiment.

Fortunately, this murder mystery team building game gives you a fighting chance to prevent your own murder. Everyone in your group has been secretly poisoned, and the clock is ticking down on your time left to live. To save yourselves and get the antidote, all you have to do is complete various fun challenges and reveal the killer’s identity.

The killer has hidden their identity in a scavenger hunt at the science museum. On your quest, you’ll encounter such exhibits as Science Alley, the Engineering Lab, Invention Dimension, the Forest of Illusions, and a dilophosaurus. This game will challenge your team to solve a series of interlocking puzzles, decipher coded messages, and meet the conditions of creative, collaborative photo prompts.

Along the way, your team might…

  • Do your best mad-scientist impressions.
  • Clash with powerful prehistoric creatures.
  • Interrogate sculptures and fossils for clues.
  • Gape in wonderment at incredible technology.
  • Tackle a trivia quiz about famous murder mysteries.
  • Identify murderous movies and snippets of killer songs.

If your group loves escape rooms and murder mystery games, they’ll love this science museum scavenger hunt. The game will also help you entertain a diverse group of people while boosting morale and teamwork. It’s perfect for a private party or a corporate team-building outing of any size.

A Kids Edition is available in which kids (ages 10 and up) and adults collaborate in the adventure, which makes the game a great activity for a school field trip.

Investigate an art-filled murder mystery

…on this adventure through the Yale University Art Gallery, a museum that’s a large, surprising treasure chest. At the start of the game, you’ll learn that the Watson Adventures staffer who was supposed to run your team-building scavenger has been found dead! The police need your help in discovering whodunit.

The victim also wrote the hunt you are about to go on, and there’s reason to believe that he hid a secret message in the questions and answers. Can your team follow the trail of clues throughout the museum, answer the tricky questions, and tease out the details of the victim’s secret life—and perhaps his last message?

No previous knowledge of art or the museum is required: you just need sharp eyes and comfy shoes.

You might search for answers to such questions as…

  • In the Africa gallery, find a man who looks like he really annoyed a cranky carpenter. What do you see when you contemplate his navel? Answer: You see yourself or a mirror when you look at the belly of the nkondi, with nails and other sharp items stuck into all parts of his body.
  • Find something that could illustrate the nursery line, “The dish ran away with the spoon.” What Liberian name might make you think you made this? Answer: A carved spoon with legs was possibly made by the Wépeople.
  • Like Yankee Doodle, what ingredient did an artist use to help feathery trees stand tall? Answer: A work by Picabia includes macaroni as an ingredient.

This Yale murder mystery game is guaranteed to get your groups working together, having fun, and bonding.

A more relaxed version of this game that’s not a murder mystery is also available.

A Kids Edition for kids ages 7 and up challenges adults and kids to work together. It’s perfect for exposing young minds on a school field trip to the wide range of art. The emphasis is on fun, curiosity, and cooperation.

From dinosaurs to dodos, fossils to pharaohs…

…you’ll see the best of  Yale’s newly expanded Peabody Museum of Natural History while playing this most unusual game. This New Haven museum is a dinosaur haven, but it’s also filled with an array of scientific curiosities. You don’t need to be a scientist to play or to win—you just need great teamwork to answer the hunt’s tricky, humorous questions about strange specimens, objects from outer space, intriguing insects, eerie mummies, and more.

You might track down answers to such questions as…

  • In the Egypt gallery, crack the case of the dummy mummies. As a result of this swindle, what was the “exchange rate” of gods and pots? Answer: 1 to 1, or “One god, one pot,” according to a decree after six men sold false animal mummies for tombs.
  • Walk among dinosaurs. From which apparently tasty place did a president get his unusual White House decor? Answer: Jefferson filled one room in the White House with mastodon bones from Big Bone Lick, Kentucky.

Keep in mind that we’ve left out some of the clues that will help you zero in on the correct answers. No prior knowledge of the museum or its flora and fauna is necessary.

A version in which kids and adults work together is also available, suitable for ages 7 and up.
