You might search for answers to such questions as…

• Find a fire drill in a place seemingly named by Scrooge. What is the name of the place where you might think fish spend the night? Answer: Trout House Hotel, in a photo of firemen in Humbug Square.
• Look into a place on Auburn where the counterman can set you up with a Royalist. But bakers better beat it: according to the sign, what’s not allowed? Answer: A photo of the Auburn Avenue Smoke Shop, with the Royalist brand for sale, has a sign that says, “No Loafing Allowed.”
• One jug can see its face in a mirror—yet it also can’t see its face in the mirror. What kind of person is it? Answer: It’s a two-faced politician jug.

No knowledge of Atlanta or the museum is necessary: you just need to pay attention to the details, use your wits, and work with your team.

A team-building game you can play anywhere

Celebrate all things Atlanta while completing a variety of surprising challenges on a scavenger hunt you can play anywhere. On teams, you’ll take creative team photos, find or create unusual items, crack a mystery message, and meet with the Hunt Host for a bonus challenge. And many of the tasks will prompt you to celebrate the people, places, food, and history of Atlanta and the state of Georgia.

You might be challenged to…

• Portray a sports team going for the gold, in honor of the 1996 Olympics
• Take a photo frozen in mid-air as if you’re flying like some of the many super heroes who have been filmed in Atlanta
• Find or create something related to Coca-Cola, which is based in Atlanta

Plus you might celebrate such local favorites as jazz, peaches, and Six Flags in “the Hollywood of the South.” Get ready for a unique collaborative Atlanta scavenger hunt that will bring out not just the best in your favorite city but also your team.

…on this unusual whirlwind tour of the Georgia Aquarium. Your group will tackle tricky, funny questions that reveal the best of such exhibits as the Cold Water Quest, Ocean Voyager, Tropical Diver, and River Scout. You’ll search for answers to such questions as…

• Visit a giant aquatic mammal whose name sounds like a serving size for an order of caviar. What does it focus its melon on? Answer: The beluga whale has an area in its head called the melon that focuses clicks.
• Find an Asian crustacean that can be as long as a car. If you lived as long as it does, would you collect Social Security? Answer: Yes! The Japanese spider crab can live up to 100 years.
• Find Nemo. You might say, “With friends like him, who needs anemones?” Well, he does, actually, in order to eat…what? Answer: The clown anemonefish eats parasites from anemone.

Didn’t know the answers? Don’t worry: the questions are designed so that clues lead you to the right place to find them. You don’t need to know anything about fish or the aquarium to play—you just need sharp eyes and comfy shoes.

Editions for kids (ages 7 and up) to enjoy with adults are also available for outstanding school field trips, birthday parties, camp outings, and other adventurous occasions.

Fun games with humorous twists!

If you’re looking for a good, old-fashioned scavenger hunt, we have one—with very unusual challenges that will exercise your brain and tickle your funny bone. Your tasks may involve strange uses for food, new lyrics for old songs, people in any kind of uniform, strangers wearing valuable words, secrets about local landmarks, and more. If you’ve been on scavenger hunts where you’ve had to collect boring things like clothespins and obscure CDs, you’re in for a surprise and a treat.

Take unusual team photos

Get creative and keep your eyes open as you explore your area and try to meet the requirements of diverse “photo op” challenges. Everyone has to get into the picture (except the person holding the camera, of course). We’ve designed them to allow room for creativity while also delivering dramatic visuals (not just shots of people standing around, smiling and pointing). You might be asked to demonstrate a group member’s superhuman powers. Or treat a staircase as if it’s a carnival ride. Or photobomb another team.

Participants use their smartphone cameras and our browser-based app. You’ll get to see the other players’ pictures and download them afterward.

Find or create unusual items

As in a classic scavenger hunt, you’ll have to locate or create unusual items. But in our version, you might encounter these tricky tests: Can you create and name an amazing new food by combining two unlikely foods? How about an appropriate trophy for the hunt winners? Three items that rhyme? Something improved by being broken? You’ll be surprised by the results that come from great teamwork.

Crack a code to decipher a mystery message

Your hunt materials will include a bizarrely coded message. What the heck does it say? To crack the code, you’ll need to solve crafty, fun puzzles, involving a trivia questions, pop music, and a “pigpen cipher.” Can you piece together the key that unlocks the mystery message?

Locate the Hunt Host for a surprise bonus challenge

At a designated spot in the hunt area, the Host will be waiting for you, ready to spring a tricky, humorous visual puzzle for you to ponder. It could involve unusual celebrity pairings…or musical snippets…or international maps…or strangely altered art.

Round up your teammates for an online adventure that challenges you to explore museum websites in search of the craziest, zaniest, secret-and-surprise-stuffed-fulliest (is that a word?) exhibits you’ve ever seen outside of your dreams. You’ll follow tricky clues on different museum websites and answer humorous question about what you uncover.

No knowledge of any particular museum is required: you just need sharp eyes, sharp wits, sharp teammates, and sharp pencils. Wait: sharp pencils not required, because you’ll be reading the clues and answering the questions in our spiffy app, bursting with links and hints and sound effects and other fun stuff.
