The Conquer Cambridge Scavenger Hunt
What secrets lurk in Cambridge and Harvard?
Find out on this fun team-building activity that’s packed with hidden history and unexpected humor. As your team searches for answers to amusing questions on this whirlwind tour, you’ll discover the secrets of John Harvard himself; the spot where Washington took charge of the Revolution; an L-shaped bullet hole in a church wall; a blacksmith made famous by a poem; the oldest poetry bookstore in the United States; a building an artist tried to eat; and much more.
No knowledge of Cambridge or Harvard is necessary: you just need sharp eyes and comfy shoes. A sense of humor helps, too!
You’ll also be challenged to take fun, creative team photos along the way. Brainstorming a solution to the photo requirements is half the fun; the other half is seeing everyone’s photos at the end of the hunt. You’ll earn bonus points for particularly inventive photos.
Scavenger hunt highlights include…
- Signs of pranks past in Old Harvard Yard
- A site linked with a Titanic tragedy
- A game of “Where’s Waldo?” around an unusual fountain
- Christ Church, where George Washington prayed and Theodore Roosevelt taught
- The whimsical home of the world’s long-running humor magazine
What are players saying about the Cambridge scavenger hunt?
“My team and I had a great time!! It was a really fun activity!!! A lot of the feedback [from the staff], besides the hunt being a great activity, was how wonderful an area Harvard Square is and many of us haven’t spent a ton of time there, so it was really great getting to see various parts of it!” —the organizer of an outing for a pharmaceutical company
