Time-travel to bygone Atlanta…
…on a fun, funny team-building adventure at the surprising Atlanta History Center. You’ll uncover remarkable secrets and little-known facts about the Atlanta of pioneer times to the modern metropolis, including the Civil War, famous figures in the arts and sports, unusual folk art, and more.
You might search for answers to such questions as…
- Find a fire drill in a place seemingly named by Scrooge. What is the name of the place where you might think fish spend the night? Answer: Trout House Hotel, in a photo of firemen in Humbug Square.
- Look into a place on Auburn where the counterman can set you up with a Royalist. But bakers better beat it: according to the sign, what’s not allowed? Answer: A photo of the Auburn Avenue Smoke Shop, with the Royalist brand for sale, has a sign that says, “No Loafing Allowed.”
- One jug can see its face in a mirror—yet it also can’t see its face in the mirror. What kind of person is it? Answer: It’s a two-faced politician jug.
No knowledge of Atlanta or the museum is necessary: you just need to pay attention to the details, use your wits, and work with your team.
Also available: the Murder at the History Center Scavenger Hunt, which adds a whodunit where details about objects on display reveal clues to a tale of international intrigue.
The AHC is also, of course, a great destination for a school field trip, and the Kids Edition of this hunt makes for a fantastic, fun way to get kids and adults to explore it together. Suitable for ages 7 and up.

Millions of years of history—but only 90 minutes to save yourself!
The bad news at the start of this game: you’ve been poisoned! The good news: your teammates can help you find the cure by playing this scavenger hunt. An evil genius is using you as a guinea pig for one of his “unnatural history” experiments, and if you can solve a series of puzzles, you will learn the combination to a box that contains the antidote. Sure, you can escape a room, but can you unlock the box and escape the museum—with your life?
The puzzles involve the most unusual items on display in the Fernbank Museum. You’ll uncover eons’ worth of oddities in the Walk Through Time in Georgia exhibit, search for secrets in other parts of the world in Reflections on Culture, doubt the evidence you’ll see with your own eyes in the Sensing Nature galleries, and find out what seashells from the seashore have in store for you. Along the way, you’ll interact with the Hunt Host for a surprise challenge.
This is a great game for all kinds of groups—especially ones too large for conventional escape-room games. If your group has people who don’t particularly care for puzzles, they’ll still find themselves fascinated by the museum highlights revealed on this unusual tour.
Special editions for kids (ages 7 and up) are also available.
