Several cats need your help! They are lost amongst the exhibitions and galleries of the Museum of Fine Art Boston (MFA). So we are enlisting the help of everyone and holding a Cat Finding Contest! The first 10 people to notify us via Twitter or Facebook of found cats in works of arts that are not currently listed below will receive a free public hunt of their choice! Inclusive of museum admission, any city, any hunt! In your submission, please be sure to include the artist name, title, gallery location, and a link to the work of art.
This contest is open to EVERYONE, not just Bostonians!
We’ve been able to find the following fancy felines–can you add to the list?
1. Paul Gauguin’s Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?
2. Egyptian, Cat on a Column
3. John Haberle’s The Slate
4. Samuel Finley Breese Morse’s Little Miss Hone
5. Egyptian, Mummy of a Cat
6. Hochst Manufactory, Model of a Cat
7. Nicolas Lancret’s Luncheon Party in the Park
Rules Rule!
- Must be art that is currently on display
- Must be verifiable via MFA website
- Limited to the FIRST 10 people
- Post answer (artist name, title, gallery location, and link) on our Facebook or Twitter
- Deadline: Feb 20th, 5:00 PM EST
This challenge is not for the faint of heart! No knowledge of art is required, but it will necessitate extra sharp eyes and maximum scrutiny. So grab your friends, your kids, their kids, a grandparent or two, and have a pawsitively a-mew-sing and cat-tastic time!
