The Culver City Chase Scavenger Hunt for Kids
Oz was here!
Not only was The Wizard of Oz filmed in Culver City, but kids can also walk on a modern-day version of the Yellow Brick Road. That’s just one of the many highlights that makes this scavenger hunt a delight—and perfect for a birthday party, a family get-together, or a school field trip.
Kids and adults team up to follow a trail of tricky clues and answer humorous questions about the quirky, unusual, and fun movie-related sights they’ll discover. Even Dorothy would be impressed.
Favorite finds include…
- A fountain with a lion who must have seen Kung Fu Panda
- An old-time movie camera hidden in a garden, where you can play director
- Strange works of art in hidden places
- A variety of zoetropes (old-fashioned moving-image viewers) placed around town that you must give a spin to see a “movie”
It’s a great activity for birthday parties, school field trips, summer-camp outings—you name it. Recommended for ages 7 and up.
