The Swimming with Sharks Scavenger Hunt at the Aquarium

Embark on a deep-sea adventure

Boasting sharks, seals, penguins, electric eels, and all sorts of exotic underwater sea life, the New England Aquarium is a great place for a scavenger hunt. You and your team will spiral around the 200,000-gallon, multistory Giant Ocean Tank in the center of the aquarium, then fan out to the various bays on each level.

Highlights include…

  • Hopping fish
  • Bifocaled and bisexual fish
  • Punk penguins
  • Superhero lobsters
  • And a tomato clownfish (no doubt laughed at by the other fish in his school)

No knowledge of aquatic life or the aquarium itself is necessary for you to dominate this deep dive into the New England Aquarium’s secrets, but teamwork and collaboration could make all the difference between winning and losing.

The Murder Mystery Mayhem at the Aquarium Scavenger Hunt

The deadliest shark might be on your own team!

So you planned a tranquil team-building outing to your favorite aquarium? Sorry, bad luck! Turns out someone in your group—possibly on your own team—is a real Jekyll and Hyde, and they’re scheming to leave you swimming with the fishes.

Everyone in your group has been surreptitiously poisoned, and the clock is ticking. To save yourselves and get the antidote, you must play the villain’s game, identify the would-be killer, and prevent your own murder.

The killer has hidden their identity in a series of thorny puzzles, as part of an aquarium murder mystery scavenger hunt. You’ll be tasked with answering trivia questions, solving interlocking puzzles, deciphering coded messages, and meeting the conditions of tricky photo challenges around the aquarium.

Along the way, your team might…

  • Ward off a shark attack!
  • Get psychedelic with jellies!
  • Show an octopus that you are multi-armed and dangerous!
  • Tackle trivia about famous murder mysteries.
  • Identify snippets of songs that involve fish.

If your group enjoys scavenger hunts and escape-room games, they’ll love this aquarium murder mystery activity. The game will also help you solve the mystery of how to entertain a diverse group of people while boosting morale and teamwork. It’s perfect for a private party or a corporate team-building outing of any size.

A Kids Edition is also available, in which kids age 7 and up work with adults. It’s a great activity for a school field trip, a birthday party, a family reunion, you name it.
