Museum News: More Great Places for Team Building Activities

OK, we’re biased: Since 1999 our creed has been that museums are superior locations for corporate team building activities, or at least when you do them our way. And the good news is that a variety of museums have been refurnishing, revamping, and re-creating themselves recently—and we’ve been adding and re-imagining our hunts there to keep pace. Here’s just a sample…

Petersen Automotive Museum

Los Angeles
California’s car-crazy culture just got a big gift in this newly refurnished museum. Its dramatic new exterior has been controversial, but no one can complain about the three floors of revamped galleries. Highlights include celebrity cars, from the darkly gleaming Batmobile to Walter White’s pathetic pale Pontiac Aztec from Breaking Bad. Our new The Fast and the Curious Scavenger Hunt will surprise and delight even people who think they have no interest in cars.

SFMoMA

San Francisco
Mark your calendars: May 14 will see the long-awaited reopening of this expanded mecca of modern art. You can get a sneak preview on a cool interactive site. Or you can wait till we help you explore it on our latest team building scavenger hunt. In the meantime, try our new Computer Museum Madness Scavenger Hunt at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.

Murder at the National Gallery Scavenger Hunt

Wadsworth Atheneum

Hartford, CT
We just ran our first hunt in this stunningly restored art museum, and wow was it fun! You’ll be amazed at the breadth of the museum: like a mini Met it encompasses ancient art, European Old Masters, American masterpieces, and a carnival of eye-popping contemporary art. The full museum reopened in November to rave reviews. See for yourself on the Wadsworth’s Wonders Scavenger Hunt.

Perot Museum of Nature and Science

Dallas
Step inside this world of wonders and you’ll immediately see why this museum gets a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 325 Google reviewers. We staged our first hunt there just last year, and the Mad Science Scavenger Hunt had hunters turning dinosaurs, gems, virtual sports, and deadly arachnids into the stuff of team building adventure.

Milwaukee Art Museum

We’ve had huge success showing companies how Milwaukee’s Harley-Davidson Museum is a great venue for team building activities on The Hog Wild Scavenger Hunt, and now we’re excited to bring corporate groups to MAM after more than a year of renovation and expansion. The soaring, dramatic Quadracci Pavilion created by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava is worth a visit in itself, but inside lies a treasure chest of great art that provides fodder for our usual array of fun questions that bring out the talents of everyone on your team, on the Milwaukee Art Museum Madness Scavenger Hunt.

In other news…

The New-York Historical Society’s Luce Study Center is closed for renovations, so we’ve suspended hunts there in the meantime…We’re waiting for the sell-out crowds to thin out at L.A.’s new museum of contemporary art The Broad…The Yale Center for British Art is closed for renovations, but the beautifully expanded Yale University Art Gallery more than makes up for it on our Yale Art Attack Scavenger Hunt…The Met Breuer, the Met Museum’s outpost for modern art in the former Whitney Museum building, opens March 18th…And as American art from the defunct Corcoran Gallery gradually makes its way into the National Gallery of Art, we’re adding it to our popular scavenger hunts there.
