The Atlanta History Center
The combination of indoor exhibits and outdoor re-creations of places and times past make this a location filled with a variety of experiences—there’s something for everyone. You’ll travel back in time as you discover startling trivia about the Civil War, the Centennial Olympics, Atlanta from pioneer times to the modern metropolis, the 19th-century Tullie Smith farm, gardens and even golf great Bobby Jones.
Along the way, you’ll discover the answers to such questions as...
• Find a fire drill in a place seemingly named by Scrooge. What is the name of the place where you might think fish spend the night? Trout House Hotel, in a photo of firemen in Humbug Square.
• Look into a place on Auburn where the counter man can set up you up with a Royalist. But bakers better beat it: according to the sign, what’s not allowed? A photo of the Auburn Avenue Smoke Shop, with the Royalist brand for sale, has a sign that says “No Loafing Allowed.”
• One jug can see its face in a mirror–yet it also can’t see its face in the mirror. What kind of person is it? It’s a two-faced politician jug.
You can opt for a ninety-minute or two-hour hunt, plus you can add Team Photo Challenges to spur creativity. For information about the Atlanta History Center, visit www.atlantahistorycenter.com. For more information about the hunt, contact us.
